The SUITSUIT arrived surprisingly swiftly from its makers in the Netherlands. Inside the courier delivered box I found a suitcase wrapped in its own cloth bag – like an expensive designer handbag. I pulled at the wrapping, excited to get to the candy inside.
As soon as I saw the SUITSUIT Fabulous Fifties range of retro suitcases I fell in love. ‘I can get a suitcase to match the colour scheme of my blog’, I squealed in am embarrassing manner to my impassive boyfriend as I perused the website. I chose the 24-inch Tourister as I judged this to be the right size for my usual 5 to 7 day trips and because I loved the shade of lilac it came in.
Last week in Hong Kong I took the case for a road test. The size was perfect, I fitted in outfits for day and night, an extra handbag, all my shoes and had room to spare for shopping. (For more info on how I packed click here.) Packing was made easy by all the separate compartments and zip pouches that are included in the lining, although the fabric of the interior was not as luxurious as I was expecting. The complimentary laundry bag was useful though; I could protect my delicate items in it on the way out and hide washing in it on the way home.
The case runs on 4 wheels (a Japanese Hinomoto system) and literally glides alongside you with little effort whilst in an upright position. (I wish I had discovered this before I dragged it on two wheels all the way up the Kilburn High Road!) I also discovered that you need to lodge the case in a secure place whilst on public transport or else those super smooth wheels will have it sliding all over the Tube.
The pretty case certainly turned heads wherever we went and was easy to (proudly) spot when it came around the luggage carousel.

Disclosure: I approached SUITSUIT to work together after I fell in love with their products online. My Tourister was provided for review purposes but all opinions remain my own. My Aunt treated herself to the Weekender as soon as she saw mine on Facebook and loves it too.
